Did you know that some students in the United States do not have access to necessary materials and supplies to have a proper educational experience?
Helping Ninjas wanted to find a way to help these students by collecting school supplies, tools and materials so that these students of low-income families could have a chance to reach their full potential.
Helping Ninjas is collecting items for Teachers’ Treasures and the Merciful HELP Center. Sincere thanks to the Carmel Clay Public Library for helping this drive succeed.
Teachers’ Treasures obtains and distributes supplies to teachers and children in need across Central Indiana, while the Merciful HELP Center provides essential aid, including school supplies, household items clothing, and food to families in Hamilton County. Some supplies that are needed include sturdy backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, and hygiene items such as disinfecting wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer.
“Everyone can do something, says Benny, a Helping Ninjas Leader, “Something as simple as just asking your local librarian if they would help you by hosting a donation drive is just as great.”
The amazing part about this drive is that it isn’t just aiding students, but also teachers. Teachers do so much for younger generations and enrich their minds with knowledge; however, they still do not receive the highest pay. Any aid we can give them in the form of supplies can make a huge difference in their lives and classrooms.
“More than pencils and erasers,” says Helping Ninja Leader Sidd, “this drive is about bringing the community together to recognize that this world does have problems, and those problems won’t go away by simply hoping they will. People have to work for change.”
Helping Ninjas are hoping that the local community will show up and donate anything they can for those who need it. If you are wondering what to donate, don’t look any further. You can donate anything from backpacks to pencils to wet wipes. Even if you don’t live locally, you can still help our cause or a cause in your own area. You can look into charities near you, or email us, and we can help connect you with charities and volunteering or aid organizations.
